If you’re looking at a bathroom heater, you’ll probably see an “IP65 rating” on the box. That’s great for keeping water out of the electronics, but it doesn’t solve the real problem. These high-wattage quartz lamps are powerful—they give you that instant heat we all love in the winter—but they’re hungry for power. You can’t just hook these up to thin, cheap wiring. If the voltage drops, the lamp won’t get hot enough to produce that deep infrared warmth, and you’ll end up with cold spots in the room. Then there’s the heat itself. These things get hot. While the outer shell is water-resistant, we have to be smart about how we move that heat away from the casing. We’ve chosen to prioritize airflow over making the unit look like a sleek piece of art. It might not be the most “minimalist” design, but it means the housing stays cool to the touch and you don’t have to worry about burns.
